Champagne Silver Rabbit
At the Sainte-Croix Wildlife Park, the Champagne silver rabbit lives at the Ferme des Vents. It can be seen in open, grassy areas, where it roams freely and interacts with other rabbits. As a visitor, you have the opportunity to enter their habitat to get up close and personal with them.

A rabbit with silver fur
Native to the Grand Est region, and more specifically to Champagne, the silver rabbit is an elegant breed thanks to its unique color.
Historically bred for its meat and fur, it is now primarily valued for its calm temperament, making it an ideal pet rabbit. Well-suited to cool climates, this breed remains fairly rare and overlooked today, yet it continues to fascinate breeders and enthusiasts.

A calm and friendly companion
Calm and sociable by nature, the Champagne Silver Rabbit enjoys the company of other rabbits. Highly active, it loves to explore its territory and dig in any patch of soil it finds. Curious about humans, it won’t hesitate to approach us if it feels safe.
Did you know?
Silver rabbits aren’t born with that distinctive color. In fact, baby rabbits are born completely black and don’t develop their color until a few weeks after birth.
Food
The Champagne Silver Rabbit has a primarily vegetarian diet. Like all rabbits, it needs a high-fiber diet to stay healthy. It feeds mainly on hay, fresh vegetables such as carrots, celery, and cabbage, as well as fresh grass. It is also important to provide it with materials to gnaw on to help keep its teeth healthy.
