What is the deer rut?
This natural phenomenon occurs once a year from mid-September to mid-October and coincides with the deer’s mating season. During this period, testosterone levels in deer can reach levels up to a thousand times higher than usual.

Bray
To intimidate their rivals and attract the attention of females, stags let out a powerful, hoarse cry known as a “bellow,” more commonly referred to as the “rut call.”

Battles
The kings of the forest, in search of love, engage in fierce battles to demonstrate their strength and determine which few will have the privilege of mating with the does.
