Little Bittern

The Night Raven

It nests in colonies in willow trees, where it builds its nest, and its eggs are blue. The male begins building the nest and then tries to attract the female to it.

Once called the night raven because of its strange call, this heron is often perched in the branches of willow trees. It inhabits vegetated areas along the edges of marshes, ponds, and wet meadows. This bird spends the winter in Africa.
